New Year’s Day I watch “Gone with the Wind”.
This year I noticed: Scarlet O’Hara’s relationship to her father, an Irish immigrant – the same diversity of national origin I share with my father. More specifically: the scene where Mr O’Hara taught Scarlett about the importance of land for the Irish – another parallel to my upbringing.
