Nowhere in between

DEIRDRE
Well, before we all go off hiking into the desert we stand in a circle facing each other holding hands. The person who leads the hike that day will say ‘OK. Today tell us how you feel in the form of a superpower. Or sandwich. Or whatever.’ Then, after the last person goes, we turn outward from the circle and take a silent moment to reflect. That’s when I think of Fight Club, the part when Brad Pitt says: ‘This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time.’ And then I ask myself, ‘Am I ok with this?’ and if I’m not then something’s wrong and I need to change, and if I am then I focus: I continue with serenity and grace, remaining in the present moment.
